Hey everyone, I've got a recipe that I just have to share with y'all! It's called KUIH QASIDAH and let me tell you, it's the bomb. This recipe comes from up north and it's so delicious and popular. I got it from Ira Mommy Si, and it's just the absolute best.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of water
  • 4 pandan leaves
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of grated coconut
  • green food coloring (optional)

For this recipe, you're going to need to mix all the dry ingredients together first. Then, add in the water and vanilla extract and mix it up real good. Next, add in the grated coconut and a few drops of green food coloring (if you want to make it look extra pretty).

After that, take your pandan leaves and tie them in a knot. This is going to add a nice fragrance to the KUIH QASIDAH. Put the pandan leaves into the mixture and mix it again.

Instructions:

For the next part, you're going to need to use a steamer. If you don't have one, you can always use a rice cooker or a large pot with a lid.

Grease the steamer tray with a bit of oil or cooking spray. Then, pour in the KUIH QASIDAH mixture into the tray. Steam it for about 15-20 minutes or until it's cooked through. You can tell if it's ready by sticking a toothpick in the center to see if it comes out clean.

Once it's cooked, take it out of the steamer and let it cool. Then, cut it into small pieces and you're done!
